Sound Therapy & Sound Grounding
At Zen’n’ish® sound is not just background noise. It is a gentle co-regulator, a grounding presence, and a deeply soothing companion for your nervous system.
Below you will find two related, but distinct, offerings:
Sound Therapy as a standalone wellness experience
Sound Grounding as an integrated technique within clinical sessions
Sound Therapy
Sound Therapy is an immersive, restorative experience that harnesses the vibrational power of sound to support the mind, body, and spirit.
This holistic practice uses instruments such as:
monochords
singing bowls
tuning forks
rain drums
chimes and tonal overtones
voice and gentle vocal toning
Together, these create layered soundscapes that you can feel as much as you hear. The vibration and frequency of the instruments are selected to invite deep relaxation, soften emotional distress, and foster a sense of inner reset.
Dr. KiKi’s international training through the Association of Sound Therapy International with the Harmonic Sounds International Association of Sound Therapy in Belgium reflects her commitment to bringing grounded, well studied sound practices into her work.
Sound Therapy is more than a sensory experience. It is a space to:
settle your nervous system
release tension and accumulated stress
reconnect with your inner rhythms
experience stillness, even if your mind rarely feels quiet
Each session is tailored to your needs, offering a synergistic blend of instruments and pacing that honors where you are on that particular day.
Important Note
Sound Therapy is offered in person only. The physical resonance and shared space are an important part of this work, and cannot be fully replicated via telehealth.
Sound Therapy is a complementary wellness service. It does not diagnose or treat medical or psychiatric conditions and is not a replacement for psychotherapy or medical care.
Sound Grounding
Sound Grounding brings the healing qualities of sound directly into the clinical therapy space as a grounding technique woven into evidence-informed treatment.
Unlike standalone Sound Therapy, Sound Grounding is integrated into modalities such as:
Mindfulness Cognitive Therapy (M-CBT)
EMDR
Eco Somatic Therapy and Cyclical Gardening Therapy®
other mindfulness- and body-based approaches
Here, sound is used in brief, intentional ways to help you:
regulate emotions in the moment
anchor into the present when you feel overwhelmed or dissociated
find your way back to your body during difficult material
create micro-pauses of calm during intense work
Tools may include calming tones, rhythmic patterns, gentle humming, or the soft resonance of instruments like a monochord, chime, or tuning fork. For example, a single resonant tone can serve as a cue to come back to the here-and-now, reconnect with your breath, and orient to safety.
Sound Grounding can be especially supportive if you are working through:
anxiety and panic
trauma processing
emotional dysregulation or shutdown
feeling scattered, numb, or “out of your body”
Sound Grounding is always used in service of your broader clinical goals and remains anchored in the therapy plan you and KiKi have created together. It is never a performance. It is a tool.
Because it is flexible and brief, Sound Grounding can be incorporated into both in-person and virtual sessions when appropriate.
Closing Invitation
Both Sound Therapy and Sound Grounding offer sound as a pathway back to yourself, but in different ways:
Sound Therapy is a standalone, immersive wellness experience that invites deep rest and energetic reset.

You bring your tired nervous system and tender story. Together, we let the sound move through the loam and invite your whole self to reconnect, restore, and rise. 🎵🌱
Dr. KiKi is a trained sound healer, using evidence informed sound practices and sound grounding techniques to support regulation, focus, and stress relief.
