Eco Somatic Therapy
Eco Somatic Therapy at Zen’n’ish® is rooted in a simple truth: your mind does not heal in isolation from your body or your environment.
Eco speaks to your relationship with the natural world. Somatic speaks to your body and nervous system.
Together, Eco Somatic Therapy looks at how your thoughts, emotions, body sensations, and surroundings all interact, and how we can gently work with that whole ecosystem instead of only “staying in your head.” This eco somatic lens is also the ground that Cyclical Gardening Therapy® (CGT®) grows from, and CGT® is the primary way Zen’n’ish® brings eco therapy into the room.
In Eco Somatic work, we might explore:
How stress, trauma, or burnout show up in your body
How your nervous system reacts to certain spaces, people, or routines
How nature, plants, sound, and elements like water and sunlight affect your mood
How your body gives early signals that you are overwhelmed or shutting down
The goal is not to force your body to “calm down.” Instead, we notice what it is communicating and respond with more kindness, choice, and support.
When we use Cyclical Gardening Therapy® within this work, we may bring in plant cycles, loam metaphors, and gentle garden-based reflection to help you see your own growth in new ways.
How Eco Somatic Therapy can support you
This approach can be especially helpful if you are navigating:
Anxiety, chronic stress, and feeling “always on”
Burnout, compassion fatigue, and emotional exhaustion
Trauma and the body’s lingering responses
Grief, life transitions, and identity shifts
Feeling disconnected from your own body or needs
A longing to feel more rooted, present, and alive
You do not have to be “outdoorsy” or love camping to benefit. We move at your comfort level, using nature and body-based practices in ways that fit you.
What Eco Somatic sessions may include
Eco Somatic Therapy stays grounded in clinical skill, while weaving in gentle, embodied practices. Sessions may include:
Nervous system education to help you understand your body’s cues
Simple grounding practices using breath, sound, or touch
Guided imagery and nature-based visualization (even in telehealth)
Mindful awareness of sensations, posture, and tension patterns
Gentle movement, stretching, or positioning that supports regulation
Reflection on your personal “ecosystem” at home, work, and in relationships
Cyclical Gardening Therapy® inspired practices, such as plant or garden metaphors, seed and loam imagery, or tending-focused journaling
You always have choice. Nothing is forced. We check in often and adjust so your body and spirit feel respected and safe.
What Eco Somatic Therapy feels like
Eco Somatic work is less about “fixing” you and more about befriending your system. Over time, many clients describe:
Feeling more grounded and less scattered
Recognizing their early stress signals sooner
Having more language and tools for what their body is doing
Experiencing small moments of ease, softness, and permission
Feeling more connected to their own inner rhythms
You bring your stressed, tired, or shut-down self. Together, we listen to your body, honor your ecosystem, and tend the loam so your healing has a place to root and grow. 🌱💜
Dr. KiKi’s work is rooted in eco somatic psychology, integrating body based awareness and nature connected practices to support nervous system regulation and whole self healing.
We slow down, listen to your body’s cues, and tend what is asking for care, until you feel rooted, resourced, and more at home in yourself. 🌿
